This brief video gives a simple, but informative illustration on how pruning conifers should be undertaken.
Hedge pruning is best done twice a year so that only that year's growth is trimmed back. The hedge should be shaped so that the bottom is wider than the bottom.

About 2 weeks ago I had a dream (an out of body experience) in the dream I was trying to get somewhere but no one would let me through finally I get to this garden and theres hedges and flowers and my animal & spirit guides encouraging me to come on.. So I'm following the path when I come up to this gazebo looking thing with babies everywhere... I step inside and I start looking for my child ( but I have none) & i'm calling his name well I couldnt find him until my spirit guide tells me to let him call me then I find him pick him up and he tells me he's ready to be born so i push him into my stomach and that same day my fiance and I had unprotected sex what does this "dream" mean? I have another week until I'm due for my period. A day before I had this dream my friends dead mother came to me & told me that a spirit has chosen me and is waiting to be born. so ????
I had actually forgotten about the dream until well after we had had sex. Cause we're not really wanting children for like 5+years
Lawn Enforcement Videos 101 Hedge Trimming -Dusty hedge trimming evergreen arborvitae (Pyramidalis) in Whatcom County of Washington state. -Dusty is a professional. Ear protection and eye protection should be worn while trimming.
Our front hedge (between gardens) is made up of several different shrubs, making it grow at different rates.
Part of it has died and we are left with a hole!
We're thinking this is the time to dig it out and put in a new hedge of all the one species.
Privacy is important so we don't want it to take too long to grow to an ideal height of perhaps 6-8 feet. We don't want something so fast growing though, that it requires constant maintenance.
We're just south of Glasgow, Scotland.
Any recommendations would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Tonight, when I was outisde in my garden letting my dog have a wee I saw three little hedgehogs come out from a big, long hedge we have in the garden. They were moving about as if looking for food and they seemed very young which is making me think there may be a nest under there. Obviously I'm not going to disturb them but should I leave out some bread and a little plate of water to help them along? Is there a certain type of food they like to eat? And how many do you think there could be?
Sorry for the silly question it's just the first time I've seen a hedgehog and they really fascinated me!
